GTM Advisory & Operating Model Design
Turn customer value into more predictable renewal and expansion revenue.
I help B2B technology leadership teams identify what is constraining growth across their installed base—and design the coverage, ownership, customer-growth motions, metrics, and management cadence needed to address it.
The work connects customer value realisation with commercial execution, building distinct but aligned approaches for commercial-volume and strategic enterprise accounts.
As a GTM OS™ Certified Partner, I use the framework to diagnose the wider system while keeping the focus on your customer-growth priorities.
Start with the constraint—not a predetermined project.
Support can range from a focused diagnostic or planning engagement to operating-model design, executive advisory, or interim/fractional leadership.
We start with what your business needs. Not every engagement requires a full redesign or embedded leadership.
A clear path from diagnosis to action
We work in a deliberate sequence:
- Diagnose what is constraining renewal and expansion performance.
- Align leadership on the priorities and decisions that matter.
- Design the customer-growth motions and operating model required.
- Equip your teams to activate the changes—or provide embedded leadership where needed..
Installed-Base Growth Diagnostic / GTM Planning
Identify the constraint. Align leadership. Agree what happens next.
When renewal and expansion performance is inconsistent, leadership needs a shared view of what is holding growth back—before adding headcount, changing tools, or launching another initiative.
I help your team examine the connections between customer value, account coverage, renewal risk, expansion opportunity, ownership, and revenue visibility. We identify the most important constraint and agree the decisions and actions needed to address it.
Two ways to engage
1. Focused Diagnostic
A facilitated leadership workshop, supported by agreed pre-work, to identify the primary constraint and the three highest-priority commercial moves.
Format: Delivered over 1–2 weeks, including a 90-minute virtual or half-day workshop and written readout. Designed for 5–10 senior leaders.
2. GTM Planning
A deeper working engagement to translate the diagnosis into agreed priorities, decisions, ownership, and sequencing.
Format: Four 60-minute working sessions or one half-day onsite, with preparation and a written plan.
Outcome:
The diagnostic establishes the priority actions and direction for the next 90 days. GTM Planning develops these into a more detailed plan with agreed owners, sequencing, and measures of progress.
• Renewal and expansion performance varies across segments, markets, or products.
• Leadership has different views of what is causing the inconsistency.
• Customer value, renewal risk, and expansion potential are difficult to see clearly.
• You need an independent view before committing to a larger programme of change.
Best if...
“We realised our go-to-market was extremely transactional. Customers call, we react, and a single deal can make or break the year. The planning work highlighted how fragile that is and why we need a more designed system instead of relying on reactive growth.” — Product Leader, Enterprise Technology

What you receive
• GTM OS™ on a page: a shared view of your customer-growth system, its gaps, and priorities.
• Executive alignment on the primary constraint and the decisions needed to address it.
• A focused 90-day action plan, proportionate to the engagement.
• A written readout with findings, recommendations, and next-step options.
Customer Growth Operating Model
Design a repeatable way to cover, retain, and grow your existing customers.
Once the priorities are clear, the work shifts from diagnosis to design and activation. When customer growth depends on individual initiative, local workarounds, or repeated senior-leader intervention, the answer is not simply a better renewal process.
I work with your leaders to design the operating model connecting customer segmentation, coverage, value realisation, renewal and expansion motions, accountability, and management cadence.
We build distinct but aligned approaches for commercial-volume and strategic enterprise accounts—so different customer needs are reflected in how your teams work.
What we do
Through structured working sessions, we review the current model, identify the design changes required, and pressure-test the proposed approach against representative accounts or customer segments.
The work brings commercial and functional leaders together to agree how the model will operate—not simply what it should look like.
Timeline / Scope
Timeline and scope
A six-week design engagement, delivered through weekly 90-minute working sessions with the executive sponsor and relevant commercial and functional leaders. Virtual delivery, with onsite sessions available where appropriate.
Your teams own activation. Ongoing programme management, technology implementation, and interim or fractional leadership are scoped separately.
Best if...
• Account coverage, ownership, and cross-functional handoffs are unclear.
• Commercial-volume and strategic enterprise accounts need different approaches.
• Expansion relies on individual account executives rather than a repeatable motion.
• Renewal risk becomes visible too late.
• Leaders lack a trusted view of customer-growth performance and forecast confidence.
What you receive
• A Customer Growth Operating Model on a page.
• Customer segmentation and differentiated coverage model
• Value-realisation, renewal-risk, and expansion-motion design.
• Defined ownership, handoffs, decision rights, and escalation paths.
• A customer-growth scorecard and management cadence.
• A prioritised 90-day activation roadmap with named client owners.
“One of the biggest realisations during the planning work was that we didn’t even have a clear map of the client journey through our organisation. If we actually mapped it end-to-end, we’d probably look at each other and ask, ‘How did we end up like this?’ The process exposes where the system is broken so leadership can fix it.” — General Manager, Enterprise Technology

Focused Customer-Growth projects
Strengthen the part of the system that needs attention
Not every business needs a full operating-model redesign.
Where the constraint is clear, we can focus on a specific customer-growth priority. Each engagement combines relevant GTM OS™ frameworks with your commercial context to produce defined outputs your teams can put to work.
Scope, deliverables, and timing are agreed around the problem—not a predetermined package.
Not sure where to start?
Start with an Installed-Base Growth Diagnostic or GTM Planning engagement. We will identify the constraint and agree whether a focused project, wider operating-model design, or internal action is the right next step.
Segmentation & Coverage
Match your commercial approach to customer needs and growth potential.
• Define how commercial-volume and strategic enterprise accounts should be covered, where resources should be concentrated, and who owns the customer relationship.
Potential outputs: • Customer segmentation and coverage model; account ownership and engagement principles; prioritised coverage and resource decisions.
GTM OS™ pillars: Total Relevant Market and Market Investment Map
Customer Value & Renewal Readiness
Connect value realisation with earlier renewal-risk visibility.
• Clarify how teams recognise customer value, identify gaps, and act before those gaps become renewal problems.
Potential outputs: Value-realisation journey; renewal-risk motion and escalation design; cross-functional ownership and handoffs.
GTM OS™ pillars: Brand & Demand and Pipeline Velocity
Expansion Motions & Pipeline
Make expansion deliberate, not dependent on individual initiative.
Define how account potential becomes qualified expansion pipeline, which plays support cross-sell and upsell, who owns opportunity progression, and how leaders review conversion and forecast confidence.
Potential outputs: expansion-motion design; opportunity identification and qualification criteria; ownership, handoffs, and pipeline-review cadence.
GTM OS™ pillars: Customer Time to Value and Customer Expansion
Revenue Visibility & Leadership Cadence
Give leaders clearer measures, accountability, and decision forums.
Align the metrics, ownership, and management rhythm needed to make risk visible earlier and improve customer-growth decisions.
Potential outputs: customer-growth scorecard and metric definitions; renewal and expansion forecast-review design, management cadence and decision forums.
GTM OS™ pillars: Revenue Operations and Leadership & Management
Need Leadership to Embed the Change?
Interim or Fractional Customer Growth Leadership
Where the business needs someone to own the change—not simply diagnose or design it—I provide interim or fractional leadership for the installed-base growth agenda.
I take ownership of agreed renewal, expansion, coverage, and forecasting priorities, align cross-functional teams, and establish the operating cadence needed to sustain progress.
